The Muskie Fund for Legal Services is a nonprofit organization
established to administer the Hon. Edmund S. Muskie Access to Justice Award
and to raise funds to support nonprofit legal services providers which provide
legal services to Maine’s low-income and elderly residents.
The Fifteenth Anniversary Dinner honors
Dr. Robert E. McAfee, the first Maine
doctor to serve as President of the American Medical Association. In particular, we recognize
the leadership that Dr. McAfee has provided in calling attention to the problem of family
violence in our community, an issue that requires the shared commitment of health providers,
employers, and legal aid staff to address. The Dinner will be held on Wednesday,
June 2, 2010 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. The reception starts at 5:30pm.

Proceeds from the dinner will be used to support the work
of the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, Legal Services
for the Elderly, Maine Equal Justice, Pine Tree Legal Assistance and the Volunteer
Lawyers Project.
